The early years: I started racing late (age 14). I was born in Grand Rapids, Minnesota. I lived there for 10 years and then moved to Virginia. I left Virginia at 14 and moved to Utah where I started ski racing. I raced through high school and for two years afterwards. Then I moved to Bozeman to race for the Bobcats. I raced two years for MSU and then started coaching for BSF. Bozeman's been home ever since college even though I coached else where some winters. Coaching history: I’ve coached for 33 years, half of which have been with BSF (off and on since my coaching start), one-third with the U.S. Ski Team.
